After meth is flushed into a Florida swamp, a grizzled cop, his drug dealing, degenerate brother, and a crew of local misfits band together to track and kill a ferocious alligator addicted to the sweet taste of swamp crystal.
SYNOPSIS
This is a real headline, reported by NBC news in 2019 : Florida Police Warn Flushing Drugs Could Create Hyper-aggressive Alligators.
A meth lab next to a swamp, where meth manufacturers, tweaking frantically flush gallons of hard drugs down the toilet and into the wetlands during a raid, right before the annual Swamp BBQ Festival where hundreds of families will gather to celebrate. The result? Creation of a ferocious Meth Gator, hell bent on chattering and chewing its victims to bits to feed the habit.
Police chief Roy Shaw, officer Kylie, and a band of misfit Florida locals (self dubbed the ‘Gator Haters’) are the only ones capable of stopping the medicated monster. Shaw’s drug dealing brother, Cable, joins the team, offering his junkie wisdom in exchange for a lighter jail sentence. He ‘knows how meth heads work’. Our heroes will not only face the wrath of the Meth Gator but will endure a battle with the adversarial mayor who repeatedly ignores their claims of a rogue reptile. She will stop at nothing to make sure the Swamp BBQ Festival goes off without a hitch, because this year, it’s hosted by celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
We build to the final moment where Cable sacrifices his life to save the town by using himself as bait. He relinquishes control, trusting his brother Shaw with the perfect shot to kill the gator. Shaw aims his gun and pulls the trigger, deploying an explosion of handpacked TNT. His lifelong struggle with the literal and figurative demons that destroyed his family and took his sanity, is over. The Meth Gator is dead, and “Flavor Town is closed.”
